Curriculum Vitae of Dr. Neville Compton

Neville Compton (Editor, Angewandte Chemie ) obtained his PhD from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (UK) working with Nick Norman and John Errington on transition-metal bismuth chemistry. In 1990, he went to the Universität Heidelberg to do postdoctoral research with Gottfried Huttner and then joined the publishers in 1992. He became Deputy Editor of Angewandte Chemie and Chemistry ? A European Journal in 1997, and subsequently Editor of the latter in 2002, and of ChemPlusChem in 2012. He worked with the EUCheMS publication ethics committee on the Ethical Guidelines for Publication in Journals and Reviews, and took over Editorship of Angewandte in October 2017.
