Who we are – What we do

The Association of German University Professors of Chemistry (ADUC) promotes science and research in the field of chemistry and supports young researchers. The ADUC 's tasks and activities include issuing statements on the development of chemistry in research and teaching at universities, planning and organizing the Chemiedozententagung' Conference, awarding the ADUC Prize, and coordinating degree programs with the Conference of Chemistry Departments.

The ADUC was founded in 1897 as an association of laboratory directors at German universities and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1997. Since 1999, the ADUC has been a GDCh structure of the GDCh (German Chemical Society).

Anyone who supports the tasks and goals of the ADUC and holds a C4 / C3 or W3 / W2 professorship in the field of chemistry at universities, technical universities or comprehensive universities can become a member of the ADUC.
