MedChem Campus

The Tübingen Center for Academic Drug Discovery (TüCAD ₂ ), founded in 2012, is part of the University's excellence strategy. TüCAD ₂ is closely connected to the Excellence Cluster iFIT, ICEPHA (Interfaculty Center for Pharmacogenomics) and to NCT-SW (National Center for Tumor Diseases-SouthWest) and focus on pharmacological validation of genetically identified targets. The strong translational focus brought four compounds until now “first into human”. An essential part of TüCAD ₂ is a teaching concept, in which both a med chem curriculum and a MedChemCampus play a major part. Together with the GDCh Division of Medicinal Chemistry, TüCAD ₂ started the MedChemCampus events in 2023, dealing with case studies, presented by eminent drug discovery experts from both industry and academia.
