The Division of Chemistry & Energy of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) promotes the participation of young scientists in national and international Conferences, seminars or workshops by awarding various travel scholarships.

Framework conditions:

     

  • Target group: Students
  • Prerequisite: active participation in the event, i.e. lecture or poster presentation
  • All conference contributions have a clear connection to the topic of chemistry and energy.
  • All scholarship holders are requested to mention the support from the GDCh Division of Chemistry & Energy in their lecture or on their poster.

1. Conference scholarships for selected events

Active participation in selected events (e.g. Division conference) is particularly encouraged by the Division of Chemistry & Energy by awarding individually advertised travel grants.

Green Energy Transformation: GET It Done (April 9/10, 2025; Duisburg)

To enable students to actively participate (poster or lecture presentation) in the specialist group conference Green Energy Transformation: GET It Done   To make this possible, the Division of Chemistry & Energy is awarding a limited number of scholarships of up to 250 euros each. These can be applied for up to 3 weeks before the start of the event by email to Maike Fries (GDCh Office) using the keyword "Conference scholarship for the Chemistry & Energy Division conference 2025". The complete package includes the following documents:

     

  • Completed application form,
  • Confirmation of acceptance of the conference contribution,
  • Proof of registration for the Conference.

2. Conference grants for freely selectable events

The Division of Chemistry & Energy awards a limited number of travel grants for active participation in Conferences of your choice. These can be applied for at any time from Dr. Carina S. Kniep using the keyword "Chemistry & Energy Conference Grant" up to three weeks before the start of the event at the latest. Each application must contain the following documents:

     

  • completed application form,
  • Abstract of the conference contribution (poster/ lecture),
  • short explanation (2-3 sentences) of how the conference contribution is relevant to the topic of chemistry & energy (e.g. energetic application),
  • Confirmation of acceptance of the conference fee,
  • Proof of registration.

Maximum funding amount: 250 euros
