Scholarship program of the GDCh Division of Chemistry & Energy

The Division of Chemistry & Energy of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) promotes the participation of young scientists in national and international Conferences, seminars or workshops by awarding various travel grants.

General conditions:

     

  • Target group: Undergraduate and graduate students
  • Prerequisite: active participation in the event, i.e., giving a lecture or poster presentation.
  • All conference contributions have a clear connection to the topic of Chemistry & Energy.
  • All scholarship recipients are requested to mention the funding provided by the GDCh Division of Chemistry & Energy in their lecture or on their poster.
  • Awarding of a maximum of 2 scholarships per working group and calendar year

1. Conference scholarships for selected events

Active participation in selected events (e.g. Division conference) is particularly encouraged by the Division of Chemistry & Energy by awarding individually advertised travel grants.

There are currently no travel grants available for selected conferences.

2. Conference grants for freely selectable events

The Division of Chemistry & Energy is awarding a limited number of travel grants for active participation in Conferences of your choice in 2025. These grants can be applied for at any time by submitting them to Dr. Lisa Pecher, quoting the reference "Conference Grant Chemistry & Energy," no later than three weeks before the event. Each application must include the following documents:

     

  • completed application form,
  • Abstract of the conference contribution (poster/ lecture),
  • a short explanation (2-3 sentences) as to how the conference contribution is relevant to the topic of Chemistry & Energy (e.g. energetic application),
  • Confirmation of acceptance of the conference fee,
  • Proof of registration.

Maximum funding amount: 400 euros (national Conference), 500 euros (Europe), 600 euros (outside Europe)
