Who we are - What we do

The GDCh Division of Macromolecular Chemistry was founded in 1948 and currently has over 1,300 members - over a quarter of whom are students and young members. Through intensive internal and external exchange, the Division addresses the current challenges in research, application and training in macromolecular chemistry and related disciplines and makes an effective contribution to maintaining and promoting the competitiveness of Germany as a location for science and business.

Our goal is to promote science and research through

     

  • Exchange of information and experience beyond the boundaries of polymer science disciplines,
  • Discussion and cooperation with other GDCh Divisions as well as with associations and organizations in the field of polymer science,
  • Dialogue about social developments, challenges and common goals of universities, institutes and industry,
  • Ensuring excellent education and developing a diverse university landscape and
  • Promoting and supporting students and young academics as well as participating in the vocational training of professionals.
