Who we are - What we do

The GDCh Division of Macromolecular Chemistry was founded in 1948 and currently has over 1300 members – more than a quarter of whom are students and junior members. Through intensive internal and external exchange, the Division addresses current challenges in research, application, and education in macromolecular chemistry and related disciplines, and makes a significant contribution to maintaining and promoting the competitiveness of Germany as a center of science and industry.

Our goal is to promote science and research through

     

  • Exchange of information and experience beyond the boundaries of polymer science disciplines,
  • Discussion and collaboration with other GDCh Divisions as well as with associations and organizations in the field of polymer science,
  • Dialogue on societal developments, challenges and common goals of universities, institutes and industry,
  • Ensuring excellent education and expanding a diverse higher education landscape and
  • Promotion and support of students and young academics, as well as participation in the vocational training of professionals in the field.
