detergent chemistry

Who we are - What we do

The turbulent developments in the field of chemistry and technology of washing and cleaning, which have been recorded since the 1950s in particular, and the diverse ecological, human-toxicological and other problems associated with them, made it absolutely necessary for scientists and technicians from a wide variety of disciplines to work together. A Division of the German Chemical Society was soon recognized by all interested parties as a particularly suitable forum for the scientific exchange of opinions and experiences of all chemists and technicians from universities and research institutes, from authorities and from the raw materials and detergent industry concerned with the problems of detergent chemistry Therefore, in 1974, the Division "Detergent Chemistry" was founded in Bamberg. The Division currently has 400 members.

The aim of the GDCh Division of Detergent Chemistry is to create a forum for interested parties from industry, authorities, universities, institutes and the media, in which discussions on all technical questions relating to detergents and cleaning agents can be conducted openly and constructively. The focus is on science-oriented statements on sustainable benefits for people in their environment.
