Scholarship program of the GDCh Division of Biochemistry

The Division of Biochemistry of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) promotes the participation of young scientists in national and international Conferences, seminars or workshops by awarding various travel grants. General conditions:

     

  • Target group ( unless otherwise stated): PhD students, postdocs
  • Prerequisite: active participation in the event, i.e. presentation of a lecture or poster
  • Funding for participation in a maximum of one national or one international Conference per person per year. There is no entitlement to funding.
  • All events have a clear connection to biochemistry and the respective research work
  •  

1. Convention grants for national events

Active participation in selected national events (e.g. "Biochemistry" Division conference ) is particularly encouraged by the Division of Biochemistry by awarding individually advertised scholarships.

There are currently no scholarships available for national Conferences .

2. Conference grants for international Conferences

In addition to the "special scholarships" for national Conferences (see above), the Division of Biochemistry awards a limited number of travel scholarships for active participation in freely selectable international biochemistry Conferences. These can be applied for at any time from Dr. Carina S. Kniep using the keyword "Biochemistry Conference Scholarship" up to three weeks before the start of the event. Each application must contain the following documents:

     

  • completed application form,
  • brief justification with an estimate of the costs for arrival/departure, accommodation and registration,
  • short CV,
  • Abstract of the conference paper,
  • Confirmation of acceptance of the contribution and proof of registration for the Conference.

Funding amount: individual decision; maximum 500 euros
