In a letter dated September 16, 2025, we informed you of the candidates proposed by the current Board of the GDCh Division of Detergent Chemistry for the upcoming board election. Prof. Dr. Matthias Karg has since withdrawn his candidacy.   No further nominations were received from the members. Therefore, the election of the board will be conducted with the following individuals, all of whom have agreed to stand for election:

According to the bylaws of the Division, the Board consists of a maximum of eleven members (1 Chair, 2 Deputy Chair, and a maximum of 8 additional members), each elected for a four-year term. The university sector, government agencies, the raw materials industry, and the detergent chemistry sector should be represented on the board and should alternate in providing the chair. One re-election is permitted. Therefore, ten candidates are available for a maximum of eleven newly vacant board positions. The Chair and Deputy Chair positions are determined from among the elected Board after the election.

All members of the specialist group who have provided an email address will receive a link to the online vote on Monday, November 3, 2025. All other members will receive the election documents by post.

The election results will be announced on the website of the Division and in the Nachrichten aus der Chemie.

Board election for the 2026–2029 term of office

The term of office of the Board of the GDCh Division of Detergent Chemistry ends on 31 December 2025 and you as members of the Division are hereby called upon to nominate candidates for the Board election who

     

  • have declared their willingness to stand as a candidate,
  • Members of the Division are and
  • Have the support of at least eleven members of the Division. The current board members are happy to support your proposals after consultation.

According to the Division 's bylaws, the Board consists of a maximum of eleven members (1 Chair, 2 Deputy Chair, and a maximum of 8 deputy members), each elected for a term of four years. Universities, public authorities, the raw materials producing industry, and the detergent chemical industry should participate in the composition of the board and alternate as chairpersons. Re-election is possible once.

After two terms each, Dr. Paula Barreleiro and Prof. Dr. Birgit Glüsen are no longer eligible for re-election. Dr. Thorsten Bastigkeit, Dr. Carsten Cohrs , and Marcus Gast , Dipl.-Ing., are not available for another term. Prof. Dr. Felix Schacher and Dr. Torsten Wieprecht have indicated their willingness to run again. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of them for their many years of successful service to the Division and the GDCh as a whole.
