As a special recognition for outstanding academic achievements in the field of analytical chemistry, the GDCh Division of Analytical Chemistry has been awarding a prize to the best students of the year in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in analytical chemistry since 2010. The award includes prize money of 500 euros, one year's free membership in the GDCh and the Division , and a short presentation of the prize awardee in the Analytical Chemistry membership magazine, the Division 's membership magazine . The prizes are usually presented to the award-winning students during the graduation ceremonies.
The analytical performance must appear explicitly in a separate grade (for example on the respective final certificates), the grade average of the proposed candidates should be at least in the top third of the semester and among the best in analytics. Each university can therefore award one prize for bachelor's and one for master's graduates each year for the chemistry degree programs.
