Exciting workshop on science communication with @FrauForschung!

We had the opportunity to take part in an inspiring workshop on how to get started in science communication, led by the dynamic Lisa Niendorf, better known as @FrauForschung on Instagram. The event, organized by the AG wissenschaftlicher Nachwuchs and funded by the GDCh, offered valuable insights.

Lisa emphasized that authenticity is the magic word in science communication. She encouraged us to believe in our convictions and never give up when we think something is important and good.

Lisa spoke openly about inhibiting and successful factors for young scientists in communication. She shared her personal journey and showed how she uses Instagram to provide insights into everyday university life. An important aspect that Lisa highlighted was the benefit of reflection through social media. She also emphasized the need for resilience, as public presence can also bring challenges. Lisa's open reflection on her status and privileges was impressive. She showed how important it is to be aware of these, but also to recognize your own value. The workshop was an enrichment for all participants and motivated us to boldly enter the world of science communication.
