Scholarship program of the GDCh Division for paint and coating chemistry

The GDCh Division for paint and coating chemistry promotes the participation of young scientists in selected Conferences, seminars or workshops by awarding travel grants (e.g. coatings conference and summer school of the Division).

To enable students and doctoral candidates to participate in the Summer School and the Conference on paints and coatings, the GDCh Division for paints and coating chemistry provides financial support to a limited number of people:

 

• Bachelor students (from the 4th semester onwards), Master students and doctoral candidates from the degree programs Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Angewandte Chemie and similar at universities and universities of applied sciences are eligible to apply.
• Students should send a (collective) letter of support from their academic supervisor, including the names, university addresses and email addresses of the respective students, by August 25, 2026, under the subject line "Lacktagung 2026" via email to Maike Fries (GDCh Office).
• The Division will support up to 20 students with a maximum of €250 each. Funding will be granted based on the order in which the application documents are received (so).
• Following the conference, the students send the completed and signed GDCh travel expense form and the original receipts to Maike Fries.
• Reimbursement is available for travel expenses (2nd class train fares, but also mileage allowance if, for example, groups of four travel together by car; individual car journeys cannot be reimbursed) and accommodation costs. Reimbursement will be made by bank transfer.
