The Division of Solid-State Chemistry & Materials Research of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) promotes the participation of young scientists in national and international Conferences, seminars or workshops by awarding various travel grants. General conditions:

     

  • Target group (unless otherwise stated): doctoral students, postdocs, habilitation candidates
  • Prerequisite: active participation in the event, i.e. presentation of a lecture or poster
  • Promoting participation in a maximum of one national and one international Conference per person per year.
  • All scholarship holders are requested to mention the funding from the GDCh Division of Solid-State Chemistry & Materials Research in their lecture or on their poster.

1. Conference grants for freely selectable events

The Division of Solid-State Chemistry & Materials Research awards a limited number of scholarships for active participation in freely chosen Conferences. Applications can be submitted at any time via email to the GDCh Office (attn. Dr. Carina Kniep ) with the subject line " Conference Scholarship Solid State Chemistry & Materials Research" no later than three weeks before the start of the event. Each application must include the following documents:

     

  • completed application form,
  • Brief cover letter (max. 1 page): (a) Explanation of the connection between the conference paper, your own research, and the overarching themes of solid-state chemistry and materials research, (b) Estimate of travel and accommodation costs, (c) Conference fee,
  • Abstract of the conference paper,
  • Confirmation of acceptance of the conference paper,
  • Proof of registration.

Maximum funding amounts: 250 euros (national Conference; paid Online Conference), 300 euros (Europe), 500 euros (outside Europe)

2. Conference grants for selected events

The Division of Solid-State Chemistry & Materials Research promotes active participation in selected events by awarding individually advertised travel grants.
