Organic chemistry is a key discipline in modern chemistry and the natural sciences. It is at the heart of many highly topical research areas and ranges from materials science, catalysis and combinatorial chemistry to supramolecular and biological chemistry.
The Liebig Association is the Division of the GDCh that is dedicated to the topics of organic chemistry in the narrower and broader sense.
A major concern is to raise and strengthen awareness of the importance and potential of organic chemistry in modern science.

The Liebig Association for Organic Chemistry awards the ORCHEM Prize for young scientists on current topics in the field to younger scientists who have qualified through new, original and groundbreaking scientific work in the field.
