What we eat every day affects us all. Nobody wants spoiled or counterfeit food. Luckily there are investigative agencies that control what comes onto the market. On our 12th SEC technology tour to Oldenburg we have the rare opportunity to visit such an office!
The Food and Veterinary Institute Oldenburg (LVI) will be on 28 Sep. 2022 will open its gates especially for us. After an introductory lecture, in which counterfeit food will play a special role, we will get to know various methods of investigation in groups of 10 people.
Since Oldenburg is not exactly in the middle of Germany, we need two overnight stays for this tour. However, the city and its surroundings are very charming. That's why we've planned something special for you around the visit to the LVI: a city tour, two dinners together in rustic surroundings and a trip to Bad Zwischenahn am See with a boat trip.
Hotel Meiners and Bad Zwischenahn are located outside of Oldenburg. The LVI is also located in the Kreyenbrück district, 5-6 km from the center of Oldenburg. Those who come with their own car should plan seats for people arriving by train. If necessary, we will organize bus, train or shared taxi.

Hotel Meiners, a quiet hotel in Hatterwusting, was lovingly chosen by Uwe von Grabowski (double room: €98 per night). A transfer from Oldenburg Central Station can be organized if required.
Everyone pays for their own accommodation and food. The guided tour of the LVI is free. A boat trip in Bad Zwischenahn costs €13. The classic city walk in Oldenburg costs €7; maybe Uwe von Grabowski will guide us for free. If necessary, we organize shared taxis for the various transfers, which must be paid for by the fellow travelers.
The train journey from Frankfurt to Oldenburg, for example, takes four and a half hours, eg 1:58 p.m. to 6:23 p.m. (change in Hanover). Transfer to Hotel Meiners can be organised. According to maps, it takes about 5 hours by car to get from Frankfurt to Oldenburg.
