Walter Kölle Foundation

Dr. Walter Kölle (1936-2020) was Head of the Institute for Water Research at the Hanover municipal utilities until 1996. He was the author of around 100 specialist publications. In 1971 he was the first scientist to be awarded the newly established prize of the Society of Water Chemistry (currently: Division Award).

In December 2010, Dr. Walter Kölle set up a foundation at the German Chemical Society (GDCh) to promote young scientists in water chemistry . The purpose of the foundation is to promote scientific work in the field of water chemistry and to reward outstanding work by young scientists.

In particular, the foundation supports the water chemistry PhD Award and the Society of Water Chemistry Prize by financing the prize money.
