Board election 2026 (term of office 2027 - 2030)

In a letter dated March 25, 2026, we informed you of the candidates proposed by the Board of the Division of the Wöhler Association for Inorganic Chemistry for the upcoming election. No further candidates have been nominated from among the members. Accordingly, the election of the board will be conducted with the following individuals, all of whom have agreed to their candidacy:

 

• Prof. Dr. Katja Heinze, University of Mainz - Re-election
• Dr. Daniel Löffler, BASF SE, Ludwigshafen - Re-election
• Prof. Dr. Biprajit Sarkar, Free University of Berlin - New election
• Prof. Dr. Birgit Weber, University of Jena - Re-election
• Prof. Dr. Gunnar Werncke, University of Leipzig - New election
• Prof. Dr. Mathias Wickleder, University of Cologne - Re-election

According to the bylaws , the Board consists of the chairperson, their Deputy , and at least one, but no more than four, additional members. This means there are six candidates available for the six open positions. The candidates are drawn from the "Higher Education/Research Institutions" and "Industry/Freelance Professions" sectors. At least one elected board member must come from the "Industry/Freelance Professions" sector.

Members received a personalized voting link via email on May 11, 2026. Members without registered email addresses received the documents by mail. The deadline for voting is May 31, 2026. The election results will be announced here and in the Nachrichten aus der Chemie .
