• Studied chemistry at the Humboldt University in Berlin
• Diploma thesis 1974
• PhD at the University of Leipzig as an external student in 1984
• Joined the Wolfen film factory as an employee in the research and development division in 1974
• Head of research and development at the Wolfen film factory in 1992
• Managing partner of FEW Chemicals GmbH since 1997
• Around 30 patents registered, around 40 scientific publications written and numerous lectures given at various national and international conferences .
• Member of the standing committee of the German Bunsen Society from 1997 to 2000, member of the board of the Photochemistry division from 2010 to 2017
