working group nanomaterials and Microparticles

The working group consists of members from official monitoring, commercial laboratories, the food industry and research institutions.

Tasks and objectives

The aim of the working group on nanomaterials and microplastics is the exchange of information and scientific viewpoints concerning the applications, occurrence and evaluation of nanomaterials and microplastics in the consumer environment.

The focus is primarily on the areas of feed and food; other relevant areas may be included if technically necessary. The aim is to achieve standards and norms for analytical methods to ensure the quality and accuracy of determinations in complex matrices, as well as for the assessment of products and exposures.

The preparation of position papers is intended to actively influence legislative projects of the federal government and the EU, thereby creating uniform scientific bases for assessments.
