Emulsion technology – cosmetic products and/or pharmaceuticals

Cosmetic emulsions such as creams, lotions, and sprays combine many ingredients and are intended to remain stable over long periods – even though their thermodynamically preferred state would be the phase separation of oil and water. This lecture will explain the chemical and physicochemical principles using skincare products as examples. Strategies for stable production in the laboratory and in manufacturing will be presented using concrete examples – including innovative, energy-efficient process methods and optimization approaches to increase productivity and cost-effectiveness.

Before the lecture , there will be a five-minute start-up introduction. Dr. Christian Klose from Lipotype GmbH will present an innovative method for very fast and comprehensive lipid analysis.
