In 2023, the German Chemical Society (GDCh) will award the GDCh Abitur Prize for the best high school graduates of the year at grammar schools or comprehensive schools for the 19th time. The high school graduates are usually awarded when the high school diploma is handed over. Each school can nominate one awardee with a book prize and two other pupils for free GDCh membership for each Abitur year.

The award for the best chemistry student consists of a certificate, a book and the option to become a member of the GDCh for one year free of charge. This is interesting for everyone who wants to start a scientific or engineering degree, not just for prospective students of chemistry, biochemistry, food chemistry or chemistry teachers.

Teachers are called upon to select the best in their year in chemistry and to nominate them to the GDCh. Every school in which chemistry is taught up to the Abitur can register to participate in the GDCh Abitur Prize. Registration is via the registration link on this website.

Please register your school using the Online link below. You will then be given a school number and password which you can use to log in to the same login page.

Your school has already participated in the awarding of the GDCh Abitur Prize in recent years?

In this case, you will receive notification of the start of the campaign in February 2023. With the school number and password you already know, you can (if necessary) change existing master data online and notify us of the new date of your graduation ceremony and the name of the award winner.
