In its statutes, the GDCh has set as its goal "the support of members in need and their relatives or surviving dependents within the meaning of Section 53 of the Tax Code (AO)". It also pursues charitable purposes.

Applicants will then receive a questionnaire with which they are asked for the necessary personal information in order to be able to check whether the requirements for a financial contribution are met. On the basis of the documents submitted, a decision will then be made on the allocation of support payments. Funding can generally only be claimed if an applicant has applied for state subsidies to which he is legally entitled. Applications for support payments can initially be submitted informally.
