On January 14, 2025 at 5:00 p.m., Prof. Dr. Benny Chan, Biodiversity Research Center, Academia Sinica, Taiwan, will be honored with the Mario Markus Prize for Ludic Sciences.

The awardee will receive the prize, worth 10,000 euros, for his publication " Five hundred million years to mobility: directed locomotion and its ecological function in a turtle barnacle ", in which he describes how barnacles dissolve their "cement proteins" in order to actively move.
