University statistics on chemistry

Statistics of chemistry courses

Every year, the GDCh collects extensive data at all universities with chemistry courses on the number of students in the various stages of study, the number of exams taken, their assessments and the duration of the study. Information on starting a career after completing a bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate is also recorded. The GDCh is supported in the survey by the chemistry departments at the universities. The statistics are published annually at the beginning of July.

The statistics with the data from 2022 (published July 2023) can be found here.

Survey on postdoctoral qualifications, junior professorships and the proportion of women among professors

For several years now, the GDCh has also been collecting data on post-doctoral qualifications, post-doctoral candidates and junior professorships at German universities. The proportion of female C3 and C4 professors was also asked. The survey is carried out every two years.
