The Division usually organizes a "Perspective Day" (formerly: Doctoral Day) every one to two years, which offers young people, such as students or doctoral candidates, the opportunity to find out more about potential employers and to make contacts.

The event offers young environmental chemistry and ecotoxicology, German-speaking young people (doctoral students, younger professionals and master's students) the opportunity to present their own results (as part of their doctoral or master's thesis), for professional exchange, to get to know each other and for interdisciplinary discussions. "Water 2023" is the central conference on all water quality topics with the latest results. After three years of abstinence, during which personal exchange was not possible, the annual conference of the Society of Water Chemistry will definitely take place in May 2023 as a face-to-face event in the water town of Augsburg.

The International Conference on Chemistry and the Environment (ICCE) is organized by the Division of Chemistry and the Environment (DCE) of the European Chemical Society (EuChemS), in which the GDCh is involved. The next ICCE 2023 will take place from June 11-15, 2023 in Venice. A selection of the topics to be discussed at the Conference can be found in the attached flyer. The ICOBTE is a non-profit conference series founded and organized by scientists and other professionals whose main interest is in trace element (metals and metalloids) research. The organizers and supporters are volunteers from academia, government and other professional organizations.
The International Conference on Heavy Metals in the Environment (ICHMET) is a global platform where research related to all aspects of metals and other elements in the environment is brought together, presented, and discussed amongst peers.
