What am I doing here? We are all faced with this question at the beginning of our doctorate - and also at the beginning of our first FGCU Conference. A lecture of your own is a good opportunity to become aware of the core of your own work and to talk to other scientists.
At the FGCU annual conference in Hanover 2016 we offered the young talent forum "Freiraum" for the first time. The event was a great success for speakers and audience alike, and the format has been offered every year since then.
In the ?Freiraum? junior forum, doctoral candidates can give a short presentation (7 minutes) on their planned project. Instead of a plenary discussion, after every three to four lectures there is time for a meet & greet between the lecturer and interested audience.
You are also welcome to just come to make contact with other doctoral students and get to know their projects.
Would you like to take part in the youth forum? As a listener, you have to register for the Conference and the young talent forum (runs under Workshops). Would you also like to give a lecture? Then submit a short abstract in the "Freiraum Young Talent Forum" category by August 10, 2021 at www.gdch.de/fgcu2021. We look forward to your lecture!
The youth forum "Freiraum" takes place online.
