Empowering Women in Chemistry: A Global Networking Event

Wiley-VCH Breakfast Symposium on Feb 12, 2020

For the second time, the IUPAC invites female scientists and students from all over the world to take part in the Global Women's Breakfast. It takes place worldwide on a single day - February 12, 2020. Organizations of all kinds, e.g. universities, corporations, national chemical societies, state laboratories and other scientific organizations are invited to organize a women's breakfast. The Global Women's Breakfast is designed to help chemists make contacts and expand their network.

On this occasion, Wiley-VCH and the GDCh invite you to the Breakfast Symposium in Weinheim:

Wiley-VCH is proud to host this special event at our editorial offices.

Guest speakers Professors Sonja Herres-Pawlis (RWTH Aachen), Doris Kunz (University of Tübingen), Ulrike Kramm (TU Darmstadt), and Dr. Hildegard Nimmesgern (Frankfurt) will share their unique perspectives as a basis for stimulating discussion.
Video messages from female researchers worldwide will also be broadcast.

Most importantly, we want to hear from you.
? Have you wondered why the majority of speakers at conferences are men?
? Why are there so few female professors of chemistry?
? Is it challenging to have a career in academia and be a mother?
? Do you perceive a gender bias in publishing?

Our goal is to empower the next generation of women in chemistry.

Join us - all are welcome to discuss key challenges for female chemists.
